The Property
Free Spirit is situated in the peaceful and quite area of North Bruny. Reached via the stunning 20min ferry from Kettering across the Channel.
Even before arriving…there’s a sense of ‘leaving the Island’.
Often spotted in The D’entrecasteaux Channel – are seals and dolphins.
Being close to Hobart (30min)…were blessed with welcoming guests wanting to explore the Southern wild regions. Easy. We can do that.

Our property is well sign-posted and a 20min drive from arrival on the Island.
We have eight acres to explore with stunning water views of the calm (usually !) Quarantine Bay, and across the Bay to the famous House of Whisky.
What a perfect aspect.

The outdoor fire-pit and BBQ area is a great addition for our guests to enjoy.
At dusk we have our native animals running around – potoroo’s, pademelons, wallabies, quolls and echidna’s.
Sea and Wedgetail eagles, wrens and butcher birds….in fact of Tasmania’s twelve endemic bird species, Bruny has them all.
For the more adventurous daytime souls we offer – kayaking, bushwalking or fishing from our jetty.
We have three excellent two-seater kayak’s – with all gear supplied. With the option of launching/fishing from the beach, or off our jetty. Easy and simple for our guests.
Free Spirit is close to Bruny Island’s many culinary delights and spectacular hiking trails….but secluded enough to feel far away from the every day.

Here we have a breathtaking environment.
One that we’re proud to share
