Feel at home
A stay at the lodge is generously all-inclusive of breakfast, lunch and dinner with daily changing menus, open bar with premium wines and spirits (a cellarmasters list is available at an additional cost), in-suite bar, signature experiences and return Kangaroo Island Airport transfers.
Reflecting the easy-going Australian way, dress is smart casual at Southern Ocean Lodge. It’s
a relaxed dinner dress code, with no jacket required. Comfortable walking shoes, a warm top and weather-proof jacket are recommended year-round. In the cooler months, it’s best to pack versatile clothing that can be layered. A hat and sunscreen are every-day essentials.
Signature experiences
Kangaroo Island’s vast landscape and endless horizons beg to be explored. A series of guided adventures offers guests a first-hand encounter of abundant wildlife roaming freely in its natural environment and a chance to discover the island’s unique natural attractions.
Signature experiences are provided on an intimate shared basis with fellow guests at scheduled times. A personalised itinerary is created for each guest and presented on arrival at the lodge. Touring may also be arranged on a private basis for an additional charge, subject to availability.
Southern Spa
Footsteps from the lodge, the Southern Spa is a sanctuary of calm. A signature menu of
treatments features the Australian made alkeme spa care range complemented with Kangaroo
Island’s own natural beauty products. Amenities include a sauna and gymnasium while outside
on the terrace hot and cold plunge pools are perfect for soaking in the moment.
Accommodation
Twenty-five luxury suites ease along the curve of Kangaroo Island’s limestone cliffs, each with
open views of the Southern Ocean and rolling coastal wilderness. Signature design elements
include limestone floors and blackwood feature walls combined with custom-designed
furnishings and works commissioned from South Australian artists to offer private house seats
for the natural theatre of this dramatic landscape. All suites feature king Baillie Beds and a
spacious lounge opening to an outdoor terrace. Generous ensuite bathrooms offer a rain
shower, bathtub and signature Southern Spa amenities. Other features include a walk-in robe,
complimentary in-suite bar, climate control, heated floors, wireless internet, music system,
safe and telephone. Bathrobes, slippers, hairdryer and backpacks are provided along with
daily housekeeping and signature evening turndown service.
