Staying in the comfort of 4.5-star accommodation in Kununurra and one night in the heart of Purnululu National Park, each day will amaze you with a different natural highlight of the region.
Discover the magnificent three-tiered waterfall of Punamii-Uunpuu (Mitchell Falls) by air and land, cruise the vast expanse of Lake Argyle and enjoy a sunset swim, explore the iconic Australian destination of El Questro and its many gorges and springs and spend the night in the heart of World Heritage-listed Purnululu National Park and explore the ancient sandstone formations of the Bungle Bungle Range.

Itinerary
Day 1 | Arrive in Kununurra
Enjoy some free time to explore the vibrant town of Kununurra. Take a stroll about Celebrity Tree Park, hike up Kelly’s Knob to get your bearings of the area or simply enjoy a swim by the pool. In the afternoon, join your host for a meet & greet with your fellow travel companions.

Day 2 | Mitchell Falls Discoverer Tour
Today you’ll explore one of the most iconic areas of Australia’s northwest. Departing from Kununurra in a fixed-wing aircraft, fly over Wyndham and the stunning Kimberley coastline before landing at the remote Mitchell Plateau airstrip. Transfer to a helicopter and fly to the Mitchell Falls Campground, where fit and experienced hikers can enjoy a guided 4.5km hike to the top of the Mitchell Falls, discovering ancient rock art and waterholes along the way. Alternatively, you can opt to take a short helicopter transfer to the top to enjoy more time at the falls.
Enjoy a refreshing swim and take time to soak up the view of Punamii-Uunpuu from the lookout. Fly back to the airstrip by helicopter, orbiting over the Mitchell Falls for one last viewing experience. Transfer to your plane and return to Kununurra, flying over the remarkable Cockburn Range as it glows red in the afternoon sun.

Day 3 | Kununurra & Surrounds + Lake Argyle Sunset Cruise
Enjoy a leisurely start to your day with the option to join your host on a morning tour of some of Kununurra’s highlights, including Ivanhoe Crossing, the Hoochery Distillery and the Sandalwood Shop. After lunch, spend your afternoon on a sunset cruise exploring the great expanse of Lake Argyle. Marvel at the spectacular scenery, flora, and fauna along the way before finishing the day with a sunset swim and nibbles.

A trip to the East Kimberley wouldn’t be complete without visiting one of Australia’s last true frontiers. Hike into the stunning Emma Gorge or see it from above on a thrilling helicopter flight (optional add-on). Enjoy a relaxing soak in the thermal waters of Zebedee Springs and cruise down the breathtaking Chamberlain Gorge.

Day 5 | Bungle Bungle Wanderer + Overnight Stay
Your day of adventuring begins with a scenic flight from Kununurra over Lake Argyle, the Ord River Irrigation Area, and Purnululu National Park. Once landed at Bellburn Airstrip, you’ll be taken on a guided walk through the iconic beehive-shaped domes and the towering Cathedral Gorge. Your guide will take you back to a time when the Aboriginal people lived here for some 40,000 years. Learn about bush-tucker, Aboriginal customs, and the many reasons why Purnululu is World Heritage-listed.
Overnight at the eco-accredited Bungle Bungle Savannah Lodge. Enjoy a dip in the pool, sunset drinks, and sharing stories of your adventure over the open fire.

Day 6 | Depart Kununurra
After breakfast fly back to the Kununurra on a scenic flight with Aviair. It’s time to say farewell to your new friends and the rugged charm of the East Kimberley region. Take home memories that will last a lifetime of experiences exploring one of Australia’s most magical places.
