DRIFT OVER SOME OF THE MOST UNTOUCHED AND ISOLATED CORAL GARDENS IN THE WORLD
The Reef in our area is utterly untouched and demonstrates what coral and fish life used to be before human interference. Float over florescent gardens, or plunge into the cavernous formations created by centuries of uninterrupted growth. Expect to see Green Turtles, Manta Rays and prolific fish life during your stay.

SNORKELLING
Every day out on the boat we visit a different destination and often will not repeat the same location within a month or even a year. Some of our favourite snorkelling locations we have named:

The Garden – A shallow and brilliantly coloured, vivid coloured staghorn, plate, boulder and fan corals.
Ashmore Banks – A beautiful sand cay with an incredibly clear fringing reef and deep drop-off, Maori Wrasse, huge Brain Coral formations and the possibilities of Manta Rays, Crayfish and even Dolphins.
The Outer Barrier Wishbone Reef – On calm days we venture out the the incredible outer reef formation located due east of the island. Expect to see every imaginable form of marine life in its most impressive condition.

BLUE WATER FISHING
With knowledge of the area built from thirty years of experience we have the pleasure of guaranteeing an unparalleled fishing experience. Although we rely on our freshly caught seafood for meals we still maintain a high catch and release ration for the fish we don’t need. Some examples of the common species caught are Red Emperor, Coral Trout, Finger mark, Spanish Mackerel, Bluefin Tuna, Queen fish, Dog tooth Tuna and Giant Trevally.

ESTUARY AND RIVER FISHING
Haggerstone is fortunate to be situated near an uninhabited stretch of coastline. This gives us access to untouched river systems. The rivers are both beautiful and teeming with life – a great place to explore, fish and discover. Some examples of the common species caught are Barramundi, Mangrove Jack, Fingermark and Estuarine Cod. Saratoga can also be targeted.

Indulge

MINUTES FROM THE OCEAN TO YOUR PLATE
Our cuisine focuses heavily on the abundance of first class seafood pulled from the ocean that is our back yard. The seafood we eat is almost always caught on the day and fruit and vegetables come organically grown in our orchard.

WHAT IS NOT CAUGHT IS GROWN
Papaya, banana, grapefruit and passion-fruit are picked fresh from our orchard. Fresh toasted coconut flavours the homemade muesli. The eggs are the produce of free roaming chickens and the salad is a mix of flourishing rocket and local vegetables with origins in New Guinea.

SEAFOOD YOU HAVE CAUGHT YOURSELF
If you are a keen fisher or spear-fisherman then the majority of the seafood you eat will most likely be also caught by you, and always on the same day. Anna Turer has released a cookbook containing many of our dishes

SUSTAINIBILITY IS A WAY OF LIFE
At Haggerstone we only ever keep as much as we need to eat, and the majority of our daily catch is released. This also preserves our fishing and spearfishing locations ensuring that every visiter has an exceptional experience.

THE ULTIMATE ADVENTURE
For those who want the ultimate adventure experience, we recommend the use of our chartered helicopter service to visit private waterfalls, sand-cays, fish untouched river systems or enjoy a sunset champagne atop mountainous sand dunes.

LUNCH AT THE FALLS
The Helicopter departs Haggerstone mid morning and first visits unexplored river systems so that fish can be caught, namely Barramundi and Mangrove Jack, for lunch. From there a scenic flight then leads up to your lunch destination, locally named ‘The Lost Falls’.SAND DUNES AND RIVER FISHING
Unparralelled river fishing can be experienced with the convenience of fly in – fly out drop offs in incredibly remote estuary systems. The bay opposite Haggerstone holds the largest silica sand dunes in Australia and can be visited by Helicopter with permission from the traditional owners. Quotes for helicopter use are wholesale and come directly from the charter company. For details or to organize one for your stay, simply include the request in your booking enquiry.
