Day 1 – Cairns – Daintree Ecolodge

Upon arrival at Cairns Airport you will be transferred to your accommodation at Daintree Eco Lodge.
Cairns to Daintree – 90 minutes

Day 2 – Daintree – HARTLEYS CROCODILE ADVENTURES DAY

Day of exploration awaits you at Hartleys Crocodile Adventure.

A visit to the Daintree is the perfect opportunity to see crocodiles in their natural habitat. The Daintree River is home to approximately 70 adult crocodiles, the longest of which reaching approximately 5 metres. Consider taking a crocodile cruise to learn all about these fascinating reptiles.

Meet some cute Australian marsupials.
· One-hour interactive guided tour with one of our dedicated Mammal Keepers.
· Feed, pat and hold some of our most adorable Australian marsupials
· Wallaby feeding and pat, with a talk, followed by holding and feeding the Squirrel Gliders.
Meet a wombat and learn about Quolls, plus a chance to enter their enclosure and feed them with tongs.

Day 3 – Daintree Eco Lodge

Daintree Ecolodge offers a range of activities for guests to discover the nature and surrounding areas of the Daintree in an eco-sensitive way. The Daintree is a major attraction for bird watchers from all around the world due to the large number of species that inhabit the rainforest, many of which are endemic to Far North Queensland.

The Daintree Rainforest is the world’s oldest living rainforest, estimated to be over 165 million years old. The Daintree National Park was added to the World Heritage List in 1988 in recognition of its universal natural values. The 1,200 square kilometres of tropical rainforest is home to tens of thousands of species, many of which are unique to the Daintree Rainforest.

Daintree Rainforest Trees
This spectacular rainforest features some of the oldest and largest trees on the planet. The tallest within the Daintree is the ancient Bull Kauri, reaching 44.2m. The rainforest also boasts a number of Ylang Ylang trees – beautifully fragrant trees that produce strangler figs.

CULTURAL SIGHTSEEING 4WD TOURS
Our local area is Kuku Yalanji Country. On these cultural 4WD tours you will enjoy the day with a local Aboriginal guide and learn all about the relationship the people of this land have with the environment in a relaxed and interactive tour. Learn about the history of the region and even try some bush tucker. Tours can be tailored to suit and full and half day tours are available. Prices start at $165 per person

RIVER CRUISES
Cruise the majestic Daintree River. A variety of operators offer a one hour day cruise, a two hour sunrise or sunset cruise. Learn about the environment, wildlife, and of course the resident crocodiles, and enjoying the serene panorama of the mighty Daintree. Prices start at $60 per person

GUIDED RAINFOREST WALKS
There are a number of options for Rainforest Guided walks in the Daintree area ranging from a 1 ½ hr Guided Walk to more extensive 4hr guided walks. Enjoy a light walking tour around the Ecolodge property and up to the onsite waterfall. Learn about the unique and amazing plants, insects, birds and other wildlife that surround us. Much of the wildlife you will see here cannot be found anywhere else in the world, with some species dating back 135 million years. Alternatively venture to Cape Tribulation or Mossman Gorge for Guided Rainforest Walks. Prices start at $50 per person

4WD ADVENTURES
If you like the idea of being guided around our beautiful area with a personal tour guide, then there are many 4WD tour options. Everything from half day adventures to Full Day Cape Tribulation explorations. Prices start at $145 per person

INDIGENOUS ART WORKSHOPS
Learn how to understand stories told through Aboriginal paintings. learning about Aboriginal ochre paints, Indigenous art history and painting techniques. The very knowledgeable Aboriginal artist guiding the workshops will also tell stories of traditional bush foods, construction materials and medicines sourced from the rainforest. Prices start at $50 per person

Day 4 – Daintree Eco Lodge to Green Island

This morning you will be transferred to Reef Fleet Terminal for your Cruise to Green Island.

Located within the 344,400 square kilometers of the Great Barrier Reef is the coral cay oasis of Green Island, 27km (45 min boat ride) east of Cairns.

Your experience begins with a 45 minutes cruise from Cairns aboard Great Adventures. The check –in counter is located at the Cairns Reef Fleet Terminal and transfers are available at 08:30, 10:30 and 13:00. Transfers to and from the island are included. * Luggage restrictions apply

Once you disembark the boat you will be greeted by one of our resort team, who will introduce you to the island and take you on a short tour before checking into your suite. Porters will deliver your luggage to your room.

Marine Life on Green Island
The reefs surrounding Green Island Resort support a diverse range of habitats for a wide range of tropical marine life.


You can experience the unique underwater world surrounding Green Island Resort by snorkelling, diving or by glass bottom boat. Seagrass beds support a wide range of animals, from juvenile fish that use the grass for protection from predators to large sea turtles and dugong that feed on the seagrass. The reef around Green Island has over 190 different types of hard corals and over 100 types of soft corals.

There are two significant habitats:

The seagrass beds in the shallows.
The reef that starts shallow and continues into the depths.
These are great spots for some unforgettable holiday photos.

Available from the Beach Hire Hut is a range of equipment and instruction to help you explore or relax on the island. Most non-motorised equipment is complimentary for house guests.

Windsurfing
Green Island is well known as a fantastic location for windsurfing and has been the location of the Australian Windsurfing Championship. All house guests have complimentary access to the gear you’ll need to propel yourself around the island via the power of the wind. For first timers or those needing a refresher, lessons are available. Pros with their own equipment are also welcome to bring it over to the island with them.

Canoes & Kayaks
If a Canoe or Kayak is more your style, these are also available complimentary from the Beach Hire Hut. Take your time to circumnavigate the island at your own speed and take in the serenity.

Sun Lounge and Umbrellas
If all you want to do is relax, well that’s fine as well! Umbrellas and sun lounges are available complimentary for House Guests. You have license to pass the day away dreaming on the beach.

Island Walks
With lush walking tracks and varied beach environments you can explore every part of the island on foot. The 45 minute walk (at a light pace) will take you on a journey around the only rainforest covered coral cay on the Great Barrier Reef.With 120 species of plant life and a vibrant array of birds that make the island their home, there is much to see.

Pick up a Self-Guided Eco Walk booklet from the Information Centre and explore the island at your own pace.

Or at 15:00 join our resident Activities Officer for an informative and insightful leisurely stroll along the boardwalk. You’ll hear about the history of the island and about the different flora and fauna that you’ll see along the way. There is always so much to talk about that rarely are 2 guided walks the same.

Day 9 – Green Island to Cairns – Maroochydore – Noosa

When it comes time to checkout you can still enjoy the island. Shower and change facilities are available as is access to the Coral Cay Guest Lounge, so you can make full use of our facilities prior to departure. Transfers with Great Adventures leave the island at 09:15/09:45*, 12:00, 14:30 or 16:30 (*Turnaround vessel time subject to change). Take the late boat to make sure you get the most out of your Green Island experience.
Upon arrival at Cairns Reef Fleet Terminal you will be transferred to Cairns airport for your flight to Maroochydore.

Upon arrival at Maroochydore Airport pick up your rental car.

It will take you less than an hour to travel from Maroochydore Airport to Noosa. This favourite duo destination hits you with one nature adventure after the other. The route from Noosa to Maroochydore and back is enticing and will give a sense of excitement different from your other holiday experiences. Both areas, although opposite with each other, has unique enchantments that will make you crave for more and stay.

Maroochydore is located at the heart of the Sunshine Coast. Sunshine Coast is known to be one of the top destinations in Australia. Just the thought of being in the center of all the fun and various adventures to do, it is indeed a trip that should be included in any bucket list. It is situated magically where the river and the ocean meet, a charming feature unique to the area.

Enjoy everything Noosa is famous for, literally on your doorstep. A world-class surfing location, Noosa is exceptionally blessed with beautiful sandy beaches and lush green hinterland, making it a playground for nature enthusiasts and anyone with a love for the outdoors.

Cruise down the Noosa River in a hire boat or on the Noosa Ferry. The Sunshine Coast Hinterland has charming villages and popular markets. The region’s annual festivals are renowned.
Discover Fraser Island – the world’s largest sand island, which begins just off the tip of the Sunshine Coast. Explore its breathless natural wonders by 4WD (yours or hired). Day and overnight tours are also available.

Visit the home of Buderim Ginger and experience the authentic tastes of Queensland at the Ginger Factory. Enjoy the delicious flavours, educational tours or let the kids chase the gingerbread man around the globe on the Overboard ride. The Ginger Factory is home to the Superbee Live Bee Show and The Buderim Ginger Cooking School.

Like no other zoo, Australia Zoo has plenty of wildlife action every day including exciting croc shows and knowledgeable zookeepers passionate about the care and conservation of wild animals. Australia Zoo is a family favourite drawing visitors from all over the world.

Sea Life Mooloolaba is Queensland’s largest Oceanarium and aquarium has over 5,500 sea creatures. See sharks, sting rays, seals, otters, rock pools and more in thrilling, interactive displays over four levels in this multi-award winning all weather attraction.

Eumundi Markets feature arts and crafts, food and health, house and garden, fashion and jewellery as well as the freshest produce and speciality fare brings the Hinterland village of Eumundi (You-mun-dee) to life each Wednesday and Saturday.

The pool area has also been completely transformed and redesigned to include a ‘water blade’ water feature from the pool bridge as well as two new poolside decks provides more space for guests to utilise.

Day 15 Noosa to Gold Coast

The Drive from Maroochydore to the Gold Coast is about three and a half hours.
