DAY 1: Cairns to Cooktown
Daintree National Park . Cape Tribulation Beach . 4WD Only Bloomfield Track
This morning we make our way north along the scenic Great Barrier Reef Drive to the UNESCO World Heritage listed Daintree Rainforest. Highlights
include a 1-hour wildlife cruise on the Daintree River, delicious lunch in a rainforest setting, and a guided rainforest walk at the Marrdja Boardwalk.
We also visit the iconic Cape Tribulation Beach – named by Captain Cook in 1770 – a stunning stretch of coastline with a backdrop of lush rainforest.
Heading north our driver will share fascinating stories & history as you travel along the famous 4WD-only Bloomfield Track before arriving at the
iconic Lion’s Den Hotel for a cool refreshment (own expense). On arrival at Cooktown, relax before our welcome dinner. [L,D] Overnight:

DAY 2: Explore Cooktown
Lookouts . Guided Walks . Famous Sites
A day to explore Historic Cooktown with driver-guided touring, visiting Grassy Hill with its breathtaking 360 degree view of Cooktown, the Endeavour
River and Coral Sea. The rich history of Cooktown will emerge on a driver-guided foreshore walk, showcasing notable landmarks including
Reconciliation rocks, where the first act of reconciliation between Europeans and Aboriginals took place. Visit the Heritage listed Cooktown
Cemetery, bearing testimony to the diverse nationalities who came to Cooktown and the Palmer Goldfields, take a step back in time at James Cook
Museum with its fascinating artifacts before leisure time to have lunch (own expense) and simply enjoy the slower pace of this charming town. In
the afternoon, join your driver-guide for a stroll through Cooktown’s Historic Botanic Gardens, established in 1878 and one of Queensland’s oldest
regional botanic gardens. Complete a wonderful day of discovery with a photo opportunity at Finch Bay; a spectacular beach, surrounded by

DAY 3: Cooktown to Cairns
Diverse Landscapes: Outback to Rainforest . Australia’s Oldest Coffee Plantation
We leave the coast today, heading inland for a dramatic change of scenery and depart Cooktown via the Mulligan Highway. Stops are made enroute
at Black Mountain, Byerstown Lookout and the Palmer River Roadhouse. Marvel at the beauty of the outback savannah country with its vast eucalypt
forests and termite mounds. Stop at Australia’s oldest coffee plantation for a delicious lunch and before leaving the hinterland, take in the view of
the famous Barron Falls from the lookout. Our last stop is back on the lush tropical coast, visiting the Cattana Wetlands for a driver-guided walk in
this beautiful nature conservation park before transfers back to Cairns, Northern Beaches and Port Douglas. [B,L]
